Manager - FCC Quality Assurance

            The role’s primary function is to lead the Quality Assurance function which performs a second level check on transaction alerts and name screening alerts. In addition to this, the Quality Assurance function is responsible to perform all QA reviews either within the FCC function or reviews related to other operating units within the Business Segments or the Functions. Secondary responsibilities would be to assist the Governance and Oversight Head to drive any FCC related projects which are owned and managed under the ambit of FCC.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day second level Quality Assurance on transactions and name screening alerts.
  • Define & implement processes in line with Regional guidelines on Quality Assurance.
  • Ensure functional dashboards are prepared and circulated regularly.
  • Perform second level checks on True Matches and SAR alerts to ensure organizational policies and regulatory requirements relating to both have been followed.
  • Regular interaction with the Transaction Surveillance and Name Screening teams within FCC to share and discuss Quality Assurance results.
  • As part of the above interactions, give input to procedural modifications which would reduce error levels within acceptable parameters.
  • Maintain second level oversight over process changes to the Transactions Surveillance and Name Screening and escalate inconsistencies.
  • Manage and conduct all Quality Assurance reviews which are assigned to FCC. Responsibilities would include planning, resourcing, fieldwork and reporting results.
  • Conduct second level checks on all staff transaction alerts and ensure policy guidelines have been adhered during disposition.
  • Assist the Head of Governance in the rollout and implementation of the Operational Risk Framework across FCC.
  • Provide active support in system enhancement, new system implementation, testing and highlighting any anomaly (i.e. UAT/UVT/DR Drills etc).
  • Assist Head of Governance coordinate all internal and external audit for FCC.

Leadership & Management:

  • Closely work with Head of Governance and the Regional Quality Assurance team to ensure effective second level checking mechanism is in place.
  • Ensure active, responsive and effective stakeholder management both within FCC and with the broader Business areas.
  • Demonstrate team leadership qualities in managing the Quality Assurance team.

Knowledge Development and Information Management:

  • Maintain accurate audit trails (documentation & electronic) for all review work that is performed.
  • Ensure unit process manuals are kept up to date at all times.
  • In conjunction with the MI and Reporting function, contribute to the development of Information Management metrics and reports

Stakeholders Relations:

  • Ensure active, responsive and effective stakeholder management both within FCC and with the broader Business areas.
  • Work closely with the transaction surveillance and name screening teams to ensure accurate data flow, better data resolution for optimised and accurate surveillance work.
  • Collaborate with essential stakeholders to develop and deliver solutions to combat money laundering and financial crime
  • Support the CHoFCC in strengthening the relationship with regulators.

  Qualifications and Skills:

  • The role holder must possess excellent analytical skills and ability to perform complex data collation and scrutiny.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to develop effective presentations and be able to present in front of Senior Management.
  • Prior experience in Transaction Surveillance and AML would be preferred but is not mandatory.
  • Have a good knowledge of the Group & Regulatory Policies, Procedures and Standards relating to Financial Crime Risk, as well as knowledge of the local regulations and legislation on AML/CTF and sanctions.
  • Must possess ability to assess risk and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of banking products and support structure and general operational knowledge;
  • Minimum 5 years all round banking experience;
  • Knowledge of Core Banking systems & other transaction & customer related systems.
